Migration of University’s Data Processing Infrastructure

What?

The university needed to upgrade its data center hardware and implement software applications to be hosted at the data center to improve management of that data. This ‘tech refresh’ included new application and database servers, new web and process scheduler servers, and new storage area network.

 Reason?

Data Management Best Practices suggested that updates were needed to data center's hardware and software. Central to the expansion and improvement of the Service Levels were new applications for data availability, data protection and disaster recovery, anti-virus – each first-time  implementations at the data center.

 Results:

The team delivered project’s 6 month plan within data center's 4 month contractual deadline.  Ensuing issues were worked out over the four month campus roll-out.
