Rescue of load-balancing Internet traffic project
What?
Client had attempted over 18 months to self-implement internet traffic load-balancing capability, but was unable due to conflicts on the project team. Oakman was brought in to lead the team to finish the project, which included:
· validating requirements
· creating detailed technical and user acceptance test plans
· documenting best practice processes and procedures to enable client to self-support load-balancing software in production
· commencing production load-balancing
Reason?
Client’s web site was a strategically important component of their customer service. Without the ability to effectively load-balance their 2 million daily internet requests, web site performance (and customer satisfaction) suffered.
Results:
Oakman united conflicting factions to configure and implement load-balancing across the client’s 3 data centers. In three months, the united team successfully completed the implementation.
